Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it clearly and you may withdraw it at any time (see Your Rights). We may also process data without consent for the “certain legitimate uses” the DPDP Act allows, for example to deliver an order you placed, to comply with tax and other laws, or to respond to a legal order.
If you give us personal data about another person (for example a gift recipient’s delivery address), you confirm that you are entitled to do so.
🗂️ 3. Personal Data We Collect
We collect only what we need. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:
- Account and contact details: name, email address, mobile/WhatsApp number, password (stored in encrypted form), and your login if you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook.
- Order and delivery details: billing and shipping address, PIN code, the items you order, order value, payment status and, for Cash on Delivery, the amount due.
- Payment details: entered on our payment gateway’s secure page. We receive only the payment status, transaction ID, payment method type and the last four digits of a card, if provided. We do not see or store full card, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking credentials.
- Messages and support: what you write to us by email, WhatsApp, phone, contact form or reviews, and records of our replies.
- Reviews and content you post: ratings, comments, and any photos or videos you upload. These may be shown publicly (see our Terms).
- Device and usage data, collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, time spent, referring page, approximate location (city level) and cookie or advertising identifiers.
- Marketing preferences: whether you have agreed to or opted out of promotional messages.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of data such as health or biometric information, and we ask you not to send them to us.
🎯 4. Why We Use Your Data
We use your personal data only for these purposes:
- To fulfil your order: process payment, pack and ship, arrange COD, handle cancellations, returns and refunds, and send order updates and invoices.
- To run your account and provide customer support.
- To meet legal obligations: GST and tax records, accounting, responding to lawful requests from courts and authorities.
- To prevent fraud and misuse, protect the website and enforce our Terms (for example, fake orders, payment fraud, repeated COD refusals).
- To improve the website: understand how it is used, fix errors and test improvements.
- To market to you, only with your consent: offers, reminders and new-book updates by WhatsApp, email or SMS, and to show relevant ads on Google and Meta platforms.
- To invite you to review books you bought.
We will not use your personal data for a purpose unrelated to these without asking you first, unless the law allows it.
🔁 5. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the service providers and parties below, only to the extent needed for the stated purpose. Each is bound by its own privacy terms, and where they act on our behalf we require them to protect the data. The list reflects the services the website uses today and may change; we will update this page when it does.
Others who may receive data:
- Other service providers we engage for email delivery, accounting and GST invoicing, IT support and customer support, who may access data only to do that work for us.
- Government, courts and law-enforcement bodies, where required by law or a lawful order, or to protect rights and safety or investigate fraud.
- A buyer or successor of our business, if the business or its assets are ever sold or merged, on terms that protect your data as this policy does.
We do not use the personal data from this website for the marketplaces we sell on (such as Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho or FirstCry). If you buy from us there, that marketplace’s own privacy policy applies to that order.
🍪 6. Cookies and Tracking
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. We and the providers above use cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies to:
- Make the site work: keep you signed in, remember your cart and process checkout (essential).
- Measure and improve: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (analytics).
- Advertise: Google Ads and the Meta Pixel to measure ads and show you relevant ones (advertising).
Your choices: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site (such as the cart) may stop working. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and manage ads in your Google Ad Settings and Meta Ad Preferences. Where a cookie banner is shown, your choice there applies. To learn more about cookies, see this explainer.
💬 7. Marketing Messages
With your consent, we may send offers, reminders and new-release updates by WhatsApp, email or SMS. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, using the unsubscribe link, or writing to [email protected]. Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages about your order, such as confirmation, dispatch, delivery and refund updates.
🧒 8. Children’s Data
Our website is meant for adults (18 years and above), including parents, teachers and schools buying books for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data of a child (under 18) without verifiable consent of the parent or lawful guardian, and we do not track or monitor children’s behaviour or target advertising at them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
🌍 9. Transfers Outside India
Some of the providers above, such as Google, Meta, Microsoft and Cloudflare, process data on servers outside India. We transfer personal data abroad only to providers we use for the purposes in this policy, and only to the extent the DPDP Act and the Government of India’s notified restrictions allow.
⏳ 10. How Long We Keep Data
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as the law requires:
- Order, invoice and payment records: for the period required under GST, income-tax, accounting and other laws.
- Account data: until you ask us to delete your account, or the account has been inactive for a long period.
- Marketing contact details: until you withdraw consent or opt out.
- Support messages and reviews: as long as needed to resolve the matter and for our legitimate records; public reviews until removed.
- Analytics and advertising data: according to each provider’s retention settings.
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous. We may keep what we must for legal compliance or to establish or defend legal claims.
🔒 11. Security and Breaches
We use reasonable security safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, a website firewall, access limited to staff who need it, and secure payment processing through our gateway. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you should keep your password confidential.
If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.
✅ 12. Your Rights
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
- Access: get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used, and the list of parties we have shared it with.
- Correct, complete and update data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erase your data when it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Withdraw consent at any time. This is as easy as giving it. It will not affect processing already done, and we may then be unable to provide services that need that data.
- Grievance redressal: have a complaint about our handling of your data addressed by us.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to do so.
How to exercise them: email [email protected] from your registered email address or WhatsApp +91 90820 07800, saying which right you want to use. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We aim to reply within 30 days, and in any case within the time the law allows. There is no charge for making a request.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India, once you have first used our grievance process.

The website links to and embeds third-party sites and services (such as social media pages, Google Maps and YouTube). We do not control and are not responsible for their privacy practices or content. Please read their policies before you share data with them.
📝 15. Changes to This Policy

The courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over every such dispute.
